This project was part of my school curriculum (however I consider it to be also a personal project because of the hours I spent on it beyond the course). The goal was to follow a full cycle of game production, from idea to release.
We were a team of 3, one artist, one UX designer and one programmer (me). Hence all implementation tasks fell down on me:
Also, we pitched game design ideas as a team so we could include everyone's desires for the project, we were all game designers in sorts. We were all three huge fans of exploring and puzzle games like Outer Wild and Animal Well. And on top of that, we wanted to add a twist, a constraint on the player, so we took deep inspiration by the time-limited game Minnit.
The hardest part of this project was creating an enjoyable experience for puzzle lovers as well as not making it impossible for non-puzzle people. To adress this, our approach was to reflect together on each comment send by testers so we could decide each of us could fix the issue.
